Mike Otworth

CEO

Mike is CEO of PureCycle Technologies. Mike is also the CEO of Innventure, a Wasson Enterprise partnership, which manages PureCycle Technologies.

Prior to Innventure, Mike served as President and Founding Partner of Green Ocean Innovation for six years. Other founding partners included Dr. Harry Jacobson, Chairman of MedCare Investments and former CEO of Vanderbilt Medical Center, and Joseph Cook, Jr., Chairman of Mountain Group Capital; former CEO and Chairman of Amylin Pharmaceuticals, Vice-President Global Operations, Eli Lilly and Company. Green Ocean provided technology sourcing and innovation strategy and development services to Lilly/Elanco Animal Health primarily focusing on therapeutics, diagnostics and various medical devices.

Prior to Green Ocean, Mike served as Vice-President and Founding CEO of multiple start-ups at XL TechGroup (XLTG). Mike was a key senior management leader of XLTG, which founded, capitalized and advanced companies successfully to late stage funding. Six of the late stage funding events included IPOs in New York and London creating $4.5 Billion of market value.

Mike began his career on Capitol Hill working as a legislative aide and committee staff member in the U.S. House of Representatives after Graduating from Otterbein University with a B.A. in Political Science & Biology.

John Layman

Chief Technologist & Founding Inventor

John is currently a Corporate R&D Section Head at The Procter & Gamble Company (P&G). John is also the Chief Technologist and Founding Inventor of PureCycle Technologies; a start-up company that is commercializing a new recycled resin purification technology invented by John in P&G’s corporate research laboratories. He earned his Ph.D. in Macromolecular Science and Engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech) and his B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Virginia Commonwealth University.

Chief Operating Officer

Tayt is an inspired people leader and entrepreneur in spirit. Throughout his 18 year career, he helped every team he lead generate record operational & executional performances through his highly-engaging, visionary leadership style along with his radical candor with talent and overall risk-taking skills. In one example of his leadership style, one of his teams shattered a 20-year-old production record at M&M Mars and he brought a 145-person marching band on to the production floor to celebrate. These types of moments are not unique to him as he believes “how you make people feel” is paramount to any successful culture. Tayt will focus on overall operational strategy, execution and scale for PureCycle Technologies in its entirety to help deliver to the World the First Ultra Pure Polypropylene Recycling Process.

In his role prior to PureCycle Technologies, Tayt lead a team of over 5000 associates virtually, with over 400 leaders for Amazon Customer Service, and they ranked as the highest engaged team in the World during his tenure while achieving the lowest cost in the history of the virtual team. Tayt graduated with a BBA from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire where he attended one of the first Entrepreneur schools in the country. Over his 18 year career, he has lead in ever-increasing operational roles for Kraft Foods, M&M Mars, Target, and Amazon along with founding a High-End AV company in California.

David Brenner

David Brenner

Chief Integration Officer

David is a driven executional leader. He holds both a BBA & MBA from University of Texas and Texas A&M respectively. David brings over 10 years of experience in leading and delivering transformational projects across a wide range of industries and was hire #1 to bring PureCyle Technologies to life operationally. David has been critical in building the strategy, planning and overall execution for PureCycle Technologies.

Prior to joining PureCycle, David was a Senior Manager at Deloitte where he was part of leadership team that scaled Deloitte’s newest business unit (the US Delivery Center) to 1,500 staff in 18 months. David’s prior experience includes leading and executing the implementation of Electronic Medical Records for orthopedic surgeons, modernizing flagship applications for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), and supporting the implementation of the Affordable Care Act at Health Care Service Corporation (HCSC).

Jason Vititoe

Jason Vititoe

Director of Technology

Jason is a Chemical Engineer in heart and mind. He holds two product patents in polystyrene and has over 14 years of experience in both plastics and manufacturing. Prior to joining the PureCycle team, Jason led all operations along with all the capital projects for Americas Styrenics’ largest polystyrene site. His leadership will be key to bringing the P&G patented process to life at scale for both Plant One and Globally.

Jason has over 17 years of operations and engineering leadership experience with Dow Chemical and Americas Styrenics. He also holds both a BS & MS Degree in Chemical Engineering from The Ohio State University as well as the University of Michigan, respectively. As a child, Jason was taught to return things in better condition than they were received. He joined the PureCycle team to do just that with the world.

Chris Talarek

Director of Operations

Chris is passionate about plastic recycling. He is a former entrepreneur who pursued this passion having founded, funded and led his own post-consumer recycling plastics facility in Ohio prior to being recruited to join the PureCycle team. His leadership will be instrumental in pulling together the infrastructure and creating the teams to build both our FEU & Commercial plant for PureCycle Technologies.

In addition, Chris has over 20 years of operations leadership experience and holds a BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Akron. Throughout his tenure, Chris has held ever-increasing leadership roles for both engineering and operational teams in large and small manufacturing operations such as BP Oil, P&G, and TimberTech to name a few.

Rachel Dial

Project Manager

Rachel has spent the last five years building and leading high performing teams across telecommunications and federal technology industries. In her previous role at Deloitte Consulting, Rachel was consistently deployed to the project’s most critical work-streams to manage a range of complex interdependencies that took her to Hawaii and Japan for the implementation of a DoD system. Rachel has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing from the University of Central Florida.

Melissa Whitt

Business Administration Manager

Melissa, a native of southern Ohio, has more than 12 years of leadership experience in community engagement and development.

Her previous leadership roles include, community relations and development responsibilities for a regional FQHC and behavioral health center, where she worked on public relations and marketing projects, including chairing major fundraisers for youth outreach and drug prevention programs and setting record breaking numbers for both awareness, net profits, and engagement. She also successfully managed a University of Kentucky Research Lab, overseeing federally funded grants focusing on tobacco cessation for teenagers in southern Ohio and northeastern Kentucky. The lab was the first federally funded research center in southern Ohio.

Melissa earned a B.S. in Organizational Communications from Ohio University Southern, plus an A.A.S. in Electronic Media degree with a concentration in video production. She also holds a Marketing Certification from Ohio University Southern and Human Resource Certification from University of Kentucky.
